Concordia Group Summer Internship Program 2026

Location: Downtown Des Moines, IA

Program Dates: Late May – Mid August (flexible within window)

Cohort Size: Select, small group

Who We Are

Concordia Group operates at the intersection of strategy, execution, and delivery. We work across business, public affairs, campaigns, and capital—bringing together the people, processes, and infrastructure required to move work forward. Our model is integrated by design. Strategy and decision-making sit alongside execution, production, and fulfillment. That means the same team responsible for shaping direction is also responsible for delivering outcomes. A core part of that platform is our in-house production, print, and fulfillment capability—ensuring projects don’t stall between planning and execution. We are a small, high-performing team. The work moves quickly, expectations are high, and outcomes matter.

About the Program

The Concordia Group Summer Internship Program is designed as a front-row seat to how real work gets done. This is not a support role. Interns are embedded directly into active workstreams—participating in conversations, contributing to deliverables, and owning pieces of execution. You will see how strategy is formed, how decisions are made, and how projects move from concept to completion. Interns work closely with senior leadership and are included in the rooms where work is actively happening. We keep the cohort intentionally small. We are not looking for volume—we are looking for a few individuals who can operate above their experience level.

Program Structure

Interns will work across three core areas of the firm:

Strategy & Public Affairs

Participate in client meetings and internal strategy discussions

Contribute to development of messaging, positioning, and campaign concepts

Build materials used in active client engagements

Operations & Execution

Own components of project workflows and timelines

Coordinate across work-streams to ensure execution stays on track

Build and refine systems that support ongoing work

Production & Logistics

Work within Concordia’s in-house production, print, and fulfillment operation

Manage processing, quality control, and delivery coordination

Ensure final outputs are executed accurately and on time

Interns may rotate across areas but will be expected to take ownership within each.

Capstone Project

Each intern will own a defined final deliverable tied to real work. Examples may include:

A process improvement that increases operational efficiency

A client-facing memo or strategic recommendation

A campaign or project concept

A system or workflow build

At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their work directly to leadership.

Weekly Engagement

The program includes a consistent but focused cadence:

Weekly leadership check-ins (with senior team members)

Working sessions on how projects, clients, and campaigns are actually managed

Ongoing exposure to live discussions and decision-making

What You’ll Do

Participate in client meetings and contribute to active work-streams

Build materials used in real engagements

Own pieces of workflow, coordination, and execution

Operate within systems that support ongoing projects

Take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks

Who We’re Looking

For Strong judgment, organization, and attention to detail

Ability to operate in a fast-moving, unstructured environment

Clear communicator, both written and verbal

Willingness to take ownership and figure things out

Interest in business, public affairs, operations, or production

This program is best suited for individuals who want to be pushed, not managed.
