Nick Ryan is an active investor and entrepreneur, and has founded and owns an interest in a variety of agriculture, energy and renewable resources, financial services, information technology, real estate and marketing endeavors.

Mr. Ryan serves as Founder and CEO of Concordia Group, a public affairs firm headquartered in Iowa focusing on project management, communications strategy, and grassroots advocacy for corporate, non-profit and political clientele.

Mr. Ryan is also the Founder of Global Direct Mail & Marketing, a national direct mail, digital and marketing firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and Urbandale, Iowa.

Governor Kim Reynolds appointed Mr. Ryan to the Iowa State Board of Health. The Iowa State Board of Health is the policy-making body for the Iowa Department of Public Health. It has the powers and duties to adopt, promulgate, amend and repeal rules and regulations, and advises or makes recommendations to the governor, General Assembly, and the director of Public Health, on public health, hygiene, and sanitation. Under the leadership of the director, the Iowa Department of Public Health exercises general supervision of the state’s public health; promotes public hygiene and sanitation; and, unless otherwise provided, enforces laws on public health.

Mr. Ryan also serves on the Board of Directors for the Alliance for Choice in Education.

Nick is married to his best friend and favorite co-worker Jill! He has two sons and two daughters.

Nick grew up in a small Iowa town called Strawberry Point. There are not a lot of people there—but it is home to the world’s largest strawberry!

Nick endowed the Nicholas T. Ryan Family Athletic Scholarship at the University of Iowa. That scholarship is awarded to a men’s or women’s basketball player each year.

Nick graduated undergrad from the University of Iowa and law school from Drake University.
